Dr Adam Skinner

Dr Adam Skinner qualified as a doctor from Bristol University, UK in 1994 and became a specialist anaesthetist in 2005. During his training he completed fellowships in paediatric anaesthesia at the Bristol Children’s Hospital and at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. He has been a full time consultant anaesthetist at the Royal Children’s Hospital since January 2007.
His particular clinical interest is in anaesthesia for children with congenital heart disease and for children having liver and multi-visceral transplantation. He is also the lead clinician for the Royal Children’s Hospital Pre-Admission Clinic. He is a keen teacher and regularly uses high fidelity simulation to teach critical incident management to nurses and anaesthetists in training. He also teaches on the Advanced Paediatric Life Support provider and instructor courses in Australia and overseas.
He runs the Victorian Regional Committee’s full time course for anaesthetists sitting their professional primary examination and is also a deputy education officer for the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in Victoria
