Dr Sean Davies
Specialist Anaesthetist

Dr Sean Davies is a specialist anaesthetist with a particular sub-specialty interest in paediatric anaesthesia. He studied medicine at Monash University and subsequently undertook his specialist anaesthesia training with the South Australia and Northern Territory Regional Anaesthesia Training Scheme.
He has undertaken additional sub-specialty fellowship training in paediatric anaesthesia at The Royal Children’s Hospital (Melbourne), Women’s and Children’s Hospital (Adelaide) and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital (Cape Town, South Africa). He also has pursued advanced training in the highly specialised field of paediatric cardiac anaesthesia with further fellowship training at the renowned Boston Children’s Hospital (Boston, United States). After completing his advanced fellowship, he was recruited to join the faculty in the Division of Cardiac Anaesthesia as a full-time specialist paediatric cardiac anaesthetist at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Since returning to Australia in 2023, he has worked as a full-time specialist paediatric anaesthetist at The Royal Children’s Hospital with a special interest in caring for children with congenital heart disease. He also works in private practice at numerous hospitals in Melbourne with a predominant focus on ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) surgery, paediatric dental and paediatric gastroenterology.
He is a Supervisor of Training at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and involved with teaching, supporting and mentoring trainees within his department. He has an interest in overseas humanitarian work and has been involved in multiple paediatric cardiac surgical trips to Kenya and Ghana in recent years.
